Start with the destination, not the flight
Every country sets its own entry conditions. There is no universal age or document that makes a puppy eligible for every international journey. UniPetrans begins by checking the origin, destination, transit points and proposed travel date before assessing flight options.
For journeys involving the European Union, rules for young animals are especially important. The European Commission treats animals under 12 weeks without rabies vaccination, and animals between 12 and 16 weeks whose vaccination is not yet fully valid, as young animals. Acceptance varies for movement within the EU, while young animals cannot enter the EU from a non-EU country under the current rules.

Veterinary timing shapes the earliest realistic date
A puppy may need identification, vaccination, waiting periods, testing, treatment and an official health certificate. The sequence matters, and destination requirements can change.

Age and readiness are separate questions
Meeting a minimum age does not by itself mean a puppy is ready for a particular journey. Health, development, temperament, route duration, weather and handling conditions also need individual assessment.
USDA air-travel guidance requires dogs and cats covered by its transport rules to be at least eight weeks old and fully weaned, but international entry rules and airline policies may require a later date. The strictest applicable condition governs the plan.

Choose the travel arrangement only after assessment
Cabin, accompanied and other airline arrangements depend on the puppy, carrier, route and airline. No option should be promised before those conditions are checked.

Documents must match the puppy and itinerary
Microchip details, vaccination records, health certificates, owner or consignee information and routing must remain consistent. Transit countries may add requirements even when the final destination is unchanged.

Can a puppy under 16 weeks enter the European Union from outside the EU?
