How we organise the journey

01

Understand the journey

Origin, destination, dates and whether the owner travels.

02

Assess your dog

Measurements, weight, age and individual needs.

03

Build the plan

Carrier, flights, connections and acceptance.

04

Prepare departure

Documents, collection and check-in arrangements.

05

Accompany the journey

We coordinate the journey and unexpected changes, with updates at stages where access to the animal and connectivity are available. The companion cannot access a pet in the hold during the flight.

Complete handover

We coordinate reception and confirm arrival.

Travel options

Assessing the itinerary and carrier together

Body length is particularly important for a Dachshund. A soft-sided cabin carrier can be assessed when it provides adequate usable space and the airline accepts the arrangement.

Tell us whether your dog is Miniature or Standard and provide current measurements. Short legs do not make a carrier that is too short suitable; entry, turning and lying space matter.

Before booking

Information for your assessment

Gather these details before buying a flight or carrier:

  • Age, current weight and body measurements.
  • Internal and external carrier dimensions, weight and photographs.
  • Origin, destination, dates and any booked flights.
  • Identification and veterinary documents already held.
  • Routine, carrier experience and handling needs.
  • Who accompanies, collects and receives your dog.

Questions before travelling

Questions about travelling with your Dachshund

Can my dog travel in the cabin?

Cabin travel depends on your dog’s actual size, usable carrier space and airline acceptance on the specific flight. Breed, temperament or buying another seat does not guarantee permission.

Which carrier does my dog need?

Your dog must be able to stand naturally, turn and lie comfortably. We review internal and external dimensions and the conditions for every flight segment before confirming suitability.

Can a professional accompany my dog?

We can assess Pet Nanny when the owner does not travel, or Chaperone when the owner travels with their pet. With accompanied hold travel (AVIH), the professional is on the same flight but cannot remain beside the dog during it.

What if I have booked flights or need a return journey?

Send the full itinerary before assuming it can accommodate your dog. Outbound and return journeys each need their own availability, acceptance and document review.

The next step

Tell us about your Dachshund’s journey

Use the assessment form to share origin, destination, dates and your dog’s details. We will review the case and explain the accompanied service we can offer.

We provide accompanied travel with the owner or a professional. We do not offer pet transport as manifest cargo.
